Parent & Child Events:
Yearly, our school plans various events for parents to come and participate with their child. We feel it is important for a child to share their preschool classroom and friends with their parents. They love to show off their activities, friends and various projects in their room. This gives the children ownership over their space and a sense of pride and accomplishment when they are able to share experiences with their parents at “their school”.
We hope you will enjoy participating in events such as, Conferences (with Parents and Child), Halloween Trick or Treating, Pumpkin Patch, Holiday House (Christmas event), Valentine Parties, Morning with Mom, Donuts with Dad, Derby Races, Family Field Day & Picnic and Graduation.
New Parent Orientation
Held yearly for new parents, we welcome the opportunity to meet for a short meeting with just the parents. This meeting will be a review of our school policies and a great chance for you to ask questions about your child’s class or about our program. This meeting also allows us a chance to discuss what your child may or may not experience during their first few days of preschool. We want your child to truly LOVE their first school experience and by partnering with our parents we feel we have the best opportunity to make it a joyful experience.
Prior to the first day of school, Parents are invited to bring their child to our Welcome Day session. You both will have a chance to explore the classroom, chat with your child’s teacher, meet some new friends and create some special artwork to display in the room together. We also have a short scavenger hunt that engages the child to explore the school and the playground and end up at the Director’s office for a special treasure prize. It is a fun filled day that we hope will ease any fears about starting preschool.
Halloween Trick or Treating
This event is held in October. Parents are invited to dress up in fun, non-scary costumes to hand out treats and trinkets to the trick or treaters. Classrooms will have games and special snacks to share. All children will have a chance to visit our “pumpkin patch” on the school grounds and take home their very own special pumpkin.
Family Field Day and Picnic
This outdoor event is held on the last day of school for your child. The parents are invited to join in on all the games and events for the day. We challenge families to get active and be healthy! When all the events are finished, we wind down the year with a family picnic.
